I like to go with a point or two in Geo, for instance, and just enough extra memory slots to make good use of the extra skills this combination offers. Stacking strength and warfare is a given, of course, but a bit more versatility in available skills is not only useful, it's also much more fun to play (surely the most important factor here?), albeit at the cost of perhaps inflicting slightly less damage in the early-mid game stages at least.
